Oviedo High School needs our help!!!
A fundraising effort is underway at Oviedo High School to install artificial turf in the stadium.   We need your help in making this a reality.
The school is asking for our help (as a major user of the field) in raising the funds to help pay for this.

How? There are several ways.

First
Please drop your spare change in "TIPS for TURF" Jar in the band room.

Second
Refer to the linked brochure for details of Band Promotions for donations.
You can send the brochures out to businesses, delver to businesses or go door to door in groups. You can drop these off in the OHSBBA mailbox and we will be sure to get them to the school, or you can have it mailed directly to the school. The address is on the brochure. See Mr. Line for a printed copy of the brochure if needed.

Fundraisers - September 2010 we will be a Oviedo High School Hole in One.  All parents interested in helping out with this event are encouraged to contact Mike Tripp to volunteer.  See below for update on Hole in One Family Festival.

Update on Hole in One Family Festival
Are you involved? Are you feeling left out?
Well…… do we have an event for you!  In case you weren’t aware, the Oviedo Lion Band is sponsoring a Family Fun Festival with a Helicopter Ball Drop on September 25th to raise money for our band program and for the renovation of the school’s new football field.   We need YOU to become involved and help make this event a total success!  There are many areas in which to volunteer. 
These include:
1)    CARNIVAL:  2 to 4 people to help organize games, dunk tank, moon bounce, etc., plus volunteers are needed to run these activities throughout the afternoon.
2)    CONCESSION STAND:  2 to 4 people to help organize our concession stand.  Volunteers are needed to help prepare food, sell food, drinks, etc.
3)    OVIEDO IDOL:  Sheri Haisten needs parents to help judge the singing pre-lims and helping during the contest from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.   This should be fun to see!!!
4)    PRIZES:  Besides the grand prize of $5000.00, we desperately need some additional prizes for the other 17 holes.  If you know anyone or any businesses that would like to donate gift cards, time shares, theme park tickets, trips, etc. (anything that would make a great prize!) we would appreciate your help.  Contact Eileen Jaye at bigmommajaye@gmail.com  to let her know of any potential prizes or ideas that you may have.  This way, donations will not be duplicated.
5)    VENDORS:  Tammy Lenox is in charge of signing up vendors who are interested in displaying and selling their wares.  Contact Tammy at tammy.stainedglassimagery@gmail.com  if you are interested. 

The grand finale of the event will be the helicopter that will hover over the field while dropping thousands of numbered golf balls toward the 18 prize targets!  Check our band website www.oviedoband.org for more event information.
